Migrate from Brevo to Crownvo
Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) tries to be everything to everyone. Crownvo is focused: we're the best-in-class email marketing platform, with a UI that doesn't feel like a CRM that happens to send email.
Migration: < 1 day · Difficulty: Easy
What you'll move
Subscribers, templates, automations, and suppression lists — all in one import.
Subscribers
Full audience including tags, custom fields, and signup source. Unsubscribes and bounces carry over as suppressions.
Templates
Saved templates import as Crownvo drag-and-drop layouts. Merge tags and personalization tokens are remapped automatically.
Automations
Customer journeys, drip sequences, and behavioral triggers are rebuilt in Crownvo's visual automation builder.
Suppression lists
Unsubscribes, hard bounces, spam complaints, and manual suppressions all transfer — your sender reputation stays clean.
The import guide
A 5-step process, from export to first send. Estimated time: < 1 day.
Export your contacts from Brevo
Go to Contacts → Export. Choose All contacts and the full attribute set. Unsubscribed contacts are excluded by default — request them separately.
- Contacts → Export → All contacts → include all attributes
- Request a separate export of unsubscribed contacts (support ticket)
- Note any custom attributes you'll need mapped
Export your email templates
In Templates → Email, click each template and use Export as ZIP to capture the HTML and assets.
- Templates → Email → click template → Export as ZIP
- Repeat for every template (including archived)
- ZIP captures HTML + linked images + fonts
Export your automation workflows
In Automation, click each workflow, then Export → JSON workflow definition. Screenshot the visual builder for our team.
- Automation → click workflow → Export → JSON workflow definition
- Screenshot the visual builder for visual reference
- Note any SMS or WhatsApp steps — those don't carry over
Import to Crownvo
Sign in, go to Audience → Import. Upload the contacts CSV, map attributes, then send the templates and workflow JSON to our onboarding team.
- Audience → Import → drag in the Brevo contacts CSV
- Map custom attributes to Crownvo fields
- Send the template ZIPs + workflow JSON to onboarding
Verify and cut over
Set up your sending domain, send a test, then update signup forms and link Crownvo.
- Settings → Domains → verify DKIM/SPF/DMARC
- Send a test to Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo
- Swap signup form endpoints + transactional sender
Common gotchas
The issues teams hit most when switching from Brevo — and how to avoid them.
Brevo's daily send cap disappears
Brevo limits sends per day based on your plan. Crownvo caps nothing daily — you're limited only by contact count and sending-domain throughput. Plan a higher-volume first send if you've been capping.
Unsubscribed contacts are NOT in the default export
Brevo's contact export excludes unsubscribed contacts by default. We need those records separately to seed your Crownvo suppression list — otherwise, you risk re-mailing people who opted out.
SMS / WhatsApp automations don't carry over
If you use Brevo's SMS or WhatsApp channels, those are not part of Crownvo. Plan to keep Brevo for SMS or migrate to a dedicated messaging tool.
